ASBH Salary Survey
Salary Survey (pdf)
ASBH is pleased to be able to provide the results of the first salary survey to its members. Included in this report are salary data comparing full time and part time employees, salary by primary appointment setting, salary by academic rank, salary by degree status, and salary by gender, age, race, and ethnic background, as well as much more. The ASBH Salary Survey Task Force is proud to have shepherded this process through its first successful run.
While we consider this first run successful, it was by no means perfect. Future surveys will build upon the data collected here to increase their representative nature and their usefulness. Some of these changes will include: better accounting for independent consultants not affiliated with an organization or institution, connecting the salary data with geographic distribution to determine whether or not the numbers are "skewed" in any meaningful way, further investigation of items such as gender, racial, and ethnic disparities in salary by cross-tabulating them with other data, etc. Efforts will also be made to increase member response to the survey; while a 28% response rate is respectable, it is lower than we would like.
Please accept our sincere gratitude for your participation in the first ASBH Salary Survey. We look forward to partnering with ASBH members to improve this important service.
