Accessibility at the ASBH Annual Conference

ASBH is committed to providing an outstanding experience for all participants at its events. We strive for access to all activities—to the fullest extent possible—at these events based on an awareness of participants' needs and appropriate planning. 

During the registration process, you are asked to indicate the area(s) in which you will need assistance. If you select, “I have other needs, please contact me”, you will be connected via email with an ASBH staff member to discuss the specific accessibility accommodations you are requesting.

We ask that all requests for reasonable accommodations at our live events be made as early as possible, and well in advance of the event, so that we may best meet individual needs. On-site requests will be met to the best of our ability; however, available resources may be limited. Venue-specific information will be added closer to the conference date.

Mobility

Due to the large size of most of the event, venues for sessions and activities are often spread out over a wide area, and distances between locations can be considerable. ASBH staff will work with the venues to make the locations as accessible as possible. 

Hearing Impairment

We recognize that hearing needs and hearing-related accommodations span a wide spectrum. Your completion of the survey to detail your needs is very important in helping us plan for your accommodations. An ASBH staff member will contact you to discuss your survey responses and obtain additional information.

Vision Impairment

Priority seating can be found at sessions and activities that take place during the ASBH Conference.

Food Restrictions and Allergies

Please note in your survey what your allergy restrictions are. At the conference, please let a banquet service staff member know your restrictions and you will be accommodated as needed.

Service Animals

Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability.

Health and Safety

The health and safety of conference attendees is a priority for ASBH. Leadership will continue to monitor developments related to COVID-19 and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and local government and health agencies. Specific ASBH requirements for masking, vaccination, and screening will be finalized and publicized prior to the ASBH Annual Conference.
